Fall Prevention Netting via Rope Access

Think Access installs fall prevention netting on construction and refurbishment sites using IRATA rope access. Our netting systems protect workers and the public from falling personnel, tools and debris in accordance with BS EN 1263 and current work at height regulations.

What we do

Safety net installation

Fall prevention nets are installed horizontally beneath elevated working areas such as open floors, roof structures, steel frames and concrete frames under construction. They provide a collective fall arrest system that supplements or replaces other forms of fall protection where individual fall restraint is impractical. We install nets using appropriate anchor systems suited to the structure type, tensioning nets to the required energy absorption capacity.

Compliance & qualified installation

Net mesh size, border rope diameter and anchor spacing are all selected to comply with BS EN 1263-1. Installation is carried out only by operatives holding FASET or equivalent qualifications, ensuring every net is installed correctly and meets the standards required for inclusion in the site safety file.

Certification & documentation

After installation we provide a written inspection record and, where required, a certificate of conformity for use as part of the site safety file. Documentation covers anchor positions, net specification, tensioning records and the identity of the operatives who carried out the installation.

Re-inspection & removal

For long-duration works we carry out periodic re-inspections to confirm nets remain in condition and correctly tensioned as the programme progresses. At the end of the works, nets are removed cleanly and the structure handed back without damage to anchor points or surrounding elements.

Why Think Access

Rope access is often the fastest and most practical way to install safety netting in structures where the net anchor points are themselves at height or in positions inaccessible from ground level. Our teams combine rigging expertise with netting installation skill, delivering compliant systems efficiently.

F.A.Q’s

Yes. Our safety netting teams include FASET-trained and qualified operatives who install nets in accordance with the FASET Code of Practice and BS EN 1263.

Safety nets are suitable for most steel, concrete, timber and composite structures. The suitability of specific anchor points is assessed as part of our pre-installation survey.
