Custom-Designed Edge Safety Solutions via Rope Access

Think Access designs and installs bespoke edge protection and fall prevention systems for non-standard structures including domes, spires, chimneys, bridges, towers and irregular facades. When off-the-shelf systems cannot be adapted to the structure, we engineer a solution that works.

What we do

Non-standard protection challenges

Many structures present edge protection challenges that standard guardrail or netting systems cannot resolve. Curved parapets, steeply pitched roofs, cantilevered structures, open grids and heritage buildings all require a considered approach that starts with understanding the specific fall risk and the constraints of the structure.

Collaborative design process

We work with structural engineers, principal designers and CDM coordinators to develop custom protection schemes that meet the technical requirements of the Work at Height Regulations while respecting the physical and aesthetic constraints of the building. Early involvement in the design process allows us to identify practical installation challenges before they affect programme.

Bespoke system options

Solutions may include bespoke anchor systems, specialist tensioned wire systems, cable railings or purpose-made steel fabrications depending on the structure and the nature of the fall risk. Where standard products are not appropriate, we work with fabricators and system designers to produce something that is.

Rope access as an installation advantage

Our rope access capability is central to the design and installation of custom solutions. Because our teams are working from ropes, they can reach, measure, survey and install in locations that are unreachable by other means, and can position anchor points at precisely the right structural locations without the constraints imposed by scaffold or MEWP access.

Why Think Access

Custom protection solutions require both engineering competence and access capability. Think Access brings these together, working with your design team to create a scheme that protects workers, meets regulations and can be installed efficiently.

F.A.Q’s

We work with qualified structural engineers to verify load requirements and anchor capacities. All custom solutions are subject to an engineering review and are accompanied by calculations and installation records.

Yes. We design and install temporary custom systems for construction or maintenance projects, which are removed cleanly on completion. Materials can often be repurposed across multiple projects.
