High-Level Lighting Installation via Rope Access

Think Access installs, replaces and upgrades high-level lighting systems in warehouses, sports facilities, atriums, industrial halls and large commercial buildings using IRATA rope access. We eliminate the need for MEWP hire or scaffold, making lighting upgrades faster and less disruptive.

What we do

High-level luminaire installation & replacement

High-level lighting installations typically involve luminaires mounted on trusses, roof beams, gantries or elevated suspension systems, often at heights of 8 to 25 metres or more. Our rope access teams reach any luminaire position safely, carrying out new installations, like-for-like replacements or technology upgrades to LED with equal efficiency, without the downtime and cost associated with scaffold or MEWP access.

LED retrofit programmes

LED retrofit programmes on large industrial buildings deliver major energy savings and maintenance cost reductions. We carry out the full scope, disconnecting and removing old fittings, installing new LED luminaires, connecting to existing distribution, adjusting aiming angles and commissioning the new installation. Where driver or gear changes affect the existing wiring, we liaise with your electrical contractor to ensure all works are carried out to the correct standard.

New-build installations

For new-build installations, we work within the construction programme to install luminaires and cable management at height before other trades occupy the working area. We coordinate with the principal contractor and M&E subcontractor on sequencing, fixings and working space requirements, integrating cleanly with the wider programme.

Operational continuity

Because our teams work from ropes rather than scaffold or MEWPs, lighting works can often be carried out without closing the building or interrupting operations below. Exclusion zones are kept to a minimum footprint, allowing facilities to remain productive throughout, a significant advantage on live manufacturing, logistics and retail sites.

Why Think Access

Lighting maintenance and replacement at height is a recurring challenge in large buildings. Think Access makes it straightforward, combining electrical competence with safe, fast rope access to every point in the building.

F.A.Q’s

Yes. Where electrical connection work is required, our teams include or work alongside qualified electricians. All electrical works are carried out in accordance with BS 7671 and the IET Wiring Regulations.

In most cases, yes. We can isolate individual circuits while the rest of the facility remains operational, using appropriate permit-to-work and isolation procedures.
