Fire-Rated and Insulated Roofing and Cladding Solutions .

Think Access installs fire-rated and thermally insulated roofing and cladding systems using rope access across the UK. We help clients meet current fire safety regulations and energy performance targets without the programme delays of traditional access methods.

What we do

Fire-rated cladding systems

Fire-rated systems typically involve composite panels or insulated cladding products that carry tested fire performance credentials under BS EN 13501 or equivalent. We install these systems to the manufacturer’s specification, including all cavity barriers, linear seals, fire stops at penetrations, and junctions with other building elements. Correct detailing at interfaces is critical to system performance and we treat these areas with particular care.

Thermally insulated facades

Thermally insulated solutions range from external wall insulation (EWI) systems through to high-performance insulated metal panel facades. We install insulation boards, renders and finishing systems to agreed specifications, ensuring continuity of insulation, correct treatment of thermal bridges and appropriate vapour control arrangements.

Documentation & sign-off support

All works are supported by full documentation including material certificates, installation records and photographic evidence at key stages. Where required, we coordinate directly with independent inspectors, warranty providers or building control officers to facilitate sign-off and provide a complete as-built record.

Interface & junction detailing

The performance of any fire-rated or insulated system depends heavily on how it connects with adjacent building elements. We pay particular attention to window surrounds, roof junctions, floor level interfaces and service penetrations. Ensuring each is detailed, installed and evidenced correctly in line with the system specification.

Why Think Access

Our rope access approach makes fire-rated and insulated upgrades significantly faster and more cost-effective than scaffold-based alternatives, with no compromise on quality or compliance.

F.A.Q’s

We follow system-specific installation guides and can provide photographic evidence of cavity barrier positions before cladding panels are fixed. We also coordinate with building control or BWIC contractors where third-party inspection is required.

We are applicators rather than fire engineers, so we work to specifications provided by your fire engineer or architect. We can, however, coordinate with system manufacturers on product suitability if required.
