Ports & Marinas.
Access Over Water, Around The Tide.
Ports & Marinas
Port and marina structures sit over water, under constant load and in the most corrosive environment in the UK, and a scaffold rarely reaches them.
Think Access provides rope access and working at height services to port operators, harbour authorities, marina owners and the contractors who work for them, delivering inspection, concrete repair, coatings, steelwork and cleaning over water without barges, floating platforms or scaffold.
We have carried out over-water concrete repair and protective coating works at a West London dock marina, structural bolt replacement on a major jetty, and cable pull support inside working ports on the east coast. We plan around tidal windows, berth schedules and permit systems, and clients bring us back for the later phases.
What We Deliver
Rope access over water, inspection and repair in the same visit, and one accountable partner from survey through to sign off.

Jetty, Quay & Berth Inspection
Close visual and hands-on inspection of jetties, quay walls, dolphins and berthing structures, reaching splash zone and soffit areas that boat and platform surveys cannot.

Concrete Repair & Maintenance
Over-water concrete repair, repointing and patch repairs to quay walls, jetty decks and marina structures, carried out from ropes with no barge or scaffold required.

Corrosion Protection & Coatings
Surface preparation and protective coating systems for steelwork in the splash and atmospheric zones, specified for marine exposure and matched to the existing finish.

Steelwork Repair & Installation
Structural bolting, bracing, stub replacement and steel installation on jetties, gantries and terminal structures where platforms and MEWPs cannot be positioned.

Crane & Gantry Maintenance
Greasing, earthing, inspection and mechanical support on ship-to-shore cranes, gantries and conveyor structures, planned to keep downtime to the shortest possible window.

Lighting & Electrical Installations
Installation and maintenance of floodlight masts, navigation and obstruction lighting and cable runs at height across terminals, towers and jetty structures.

Confined Space Entry
Entry, cleaning, inspection and repair inside tanks, chain lockers, silos, culverts and voids, under a written rescue plan with our own equipped rescue team on standby.

High Level & Industrial Cleaning
Washdown and high level cleaning of terminal buildings, silos, cranes and cladding, removing the salt, dust and product residue that accelerates corrosion.

Standby Rescue Cover
IRATA-qualified rescue teams providing standby cover while your own crews work at height or enter confined spaces on port, terminal and harbour sites.

Roofing & Cladding
Repair, replacement and remedial works to roofs, cladding and gutters on terminal sheds, warehouses and workshops, with no scaffold around a live operational building.
Why us
We plan around tides and vessel movements, mobilise UK wide, and take on inspection, repair, coating and cleaning under one appointment.
