What we do

Emergency glazing response

Broken or failed glazing on a high-rise building presents an immediate safety and weather risk. Our teams can respond quickly, making the area safe, removing the damaged unit and installing a replacement, or boarding the opening temporarily until a permanent unit is available. We carry out risk assessments and establish exclusion zones before any removal work begins.

Planned replacement programmes

Planned replacement programmes typically involve the systematic replacement of aged or failed sealed units, often as part of a facade refurbishment or energy efficiency upgrade. We work to a programme agreed with the building manager, replacing units floor by floor or zone by zone while keeping disruption to occupants and operations to a minimum.

Full system removal

Removal of complete glazing systems as part of a facade overhaul is also within our capability. We carefully dismantle and lower panels to ground level using controlled lowering systems, ensuring safe handling of glass throughout and appropriate disposal or recycling arrangements at completion.

Safe working & risk management

All glazing removal works begin with a site-specific risk assessment, method statement and the establishment of appropriate exclusion zones at ground level. Our IRATA-qualified technicians are experienced in working with glass at height, managing both the technical and safety demands of each operation throughout.

Why Think Access

Think Access provides a complete glazing replacement service from risk assessment through removal, supply coordination and reinstallation. Our rope access approach eliminates the need for scaffold, reducing both cost and programme time significantly.

F.A.Q’s

Yes. For emergency replacements, we can often respond within 24 to 48 hours. Depending on glass type and availability, we may install temporary boarding first, followed by the permanent replacement when the glass is available.

We can source and supply standard glazing units through our supply chain, or you can supply the glass and we handle the installation only. Both arrangements work well and we will advise on lead times at the point of enquiry.
