What we do

Planned system dismantling

Temporary edge protection systems installed during construction or refurbishment need to be removed in a planned and safe manner at the end of the relevant works. Our teams dismantle guardrails, netting systems and associated components methodically, working from ropes to reach all areas safely without requiring additional scaffold.

Permanent system removal

For permanent systems that have become redundant following a change of use or building alteration, we carry out careful removal to avoid damage to the substrate. Where systems are fixed through a waterproofing membrane, we repair penetrations following removal to restore weathertightness and leave the roof in a maintainable condition.

Material sorting & waste disposal

All removed materials are sorted on site, with reusable components stacked and returned to the client or supplier, and waste materials disposed of in accordance with applicable environmental regulations. This ensures the site is cleared responsibly and that no usable materials are unnecessarily written off.

Completion certification

We provide a completion certificate confirming that all components have been removed, penetrations addressed and the area left clean and safe. This gives principal contractors, building owners and facilities managers a clear record of the works for inclusion in the site safety file or building log book.

Why Think Access

Removing edge protection at height requires the same care as installing it. Think Access applies the same rigour to removal as to installation, protecting your asset and ensuring safe working throughout.

F.A.Q’s

Yes. We inspect the system before removal and plan the sequence based on what was installed. We can work with any standard or proprietary system.

Post fixing positions are cleaned back and, where applicable, repaired or sealed. For roof-level installations through membranes, we apply compatible sealant to all penetration positions on removal.
