What we do

Entry planned around the space

Manway entry into tanks, vessels and enclosed structures requires the entry procedure, rescue plan and rigging arrangement to suit the specific space geometry. Narrow manways, awkward entry angles and limited internal space mean our teams plan every step of the sequence, including the rescue extraction method before anyone descends.

Controlled entry & retrieval

Rope access gives our personnel controlled vertical entry and retrieval. In an emergency, a casualty can be extracted from a depth or height that would not be possible by manual means, with the standby team positioned at the manway and retrieval equipment rigged and ready throughout the operation.

Standby rescue for third parties

We also provide standby rescue teams for third-party contractors who need confined space entry support but have no rescue capability of their own. Our teams are positioned at the entry point, briefed on the specific rescue plan for the space, and equipped and ready to respond immediately.

Dedicated, undistracted standby

Standby is treated as a single, focused responsibility. Our standby teams take on no other duties during a standby operation, so the rescue capability is never compromised by competing tasks and the team is ready to act the moment it is needed.

Why Think Access

The quality of confined space rescue response depends on preparation, training and equipment. Think Access standby rescue teams arrive prepared, not just present.

F.A.Q’s

We deploy a tripod or davit arm with raising and lowering capability, extraction harness, casualty bag if required, atmospheric monitoring equipment, first aid kit and communication equipment. Equipment selection is based on the specific space geometry and access arrangement.

Yes. We provide standby rescue for third-party contractors as a standalone service. We require pre-operation briefing, access to the rescue plan and confirmation that the entry team is trained and equipped appropriately for the operation.
