Sprinkler and Gas Suppression System Installation via Rope Access

Think Access installs ceiling-mounted sprinkler heads, suppression nozzles and associated pipework at height using IRATA rope access. We deliver compliant fire suppression installations in high-bay, industrial and complex environments where scaffold or MEWPs would significantly disrupt operations.

What we do

Sprinkler system installation

Sprinkler system installation at height typically involves fixing distribution pipework, hangers, sprinkler heads and associated accessories to structural elements at ceiling level. In warehouses, data centres, atria and similar high-clearance spaces, this work would traditionally require scaffold or multiple MEWP lifts. Our rope access teams carry out the same works from ropes, significantly reducing access costs and programme time.

Gas suppression systems

Gas suppression systems including CO2, FM-200 and Novec installations, require precise nozzle placement and secure pipework installation to deliver the correct discharge pattern and agent concentration. We install nozzles and pipework runs at height to the system design, coordinating with your fire system contractor and system designer on head positioning, pipe routing and penetration details.

Standards & compliance

All sprinkler and suppression installations are carried out by teams familiar with the requirements of BS EN 12845, BS 9251 and relevant loss prevention standards. Works are sequenced and installed to the system design, with any queries on head positioning or pipe routing resolved with the system designer before installation proceeds.

As-built documentation

We provide full photographic records of all installations, including head positions, pipe supports and sleeve penetrations, for inclusion in the system as-built documentation. This gives your fire system contractor, insurer and building owner a complete and auditable record of the installation as constructed.

Why Think Access

Rope access makes fire suppression installation practical in environments where traditional access creates operational problems. We mobilise quickly, work cleanly and hand over documented installations ready for system commissioning.

F.A.Q’s

We install the pipework and heads to specification. System commissioning, hydraulic testing and regulatory signoff are typically carried out by your appointed fire system contractor or specialist suppression engineer.

Yes. We are experienced in working in temperature-controlled environments. We use appropriate equipment and clothing, and coordinate with facility management on access and working time limitations.
