What we do

A requirement on every rope access job

Every IRATA-approved working at height rope access operation must have a rescue plan and the means to implement it. In practice that means a standby team present, prepared and equipped to carry out a rescue from the actual working position. Think Access provides this for our own operations and as a standalone service for third-party contractors.

Full rescue equipment on site

Our standby teams arrive on site with full rescue equipment, rescue ropes, a lowering and raising device, casualty handling equipment, a first aid kit and communication equipment. Ready to deploy the moment it is needed.

Briefed before works begin

Before works begin we brief the specific rescue scenario for the operation, identify anchor points, agree communication protocols, and confirm the emergency services contact and response plan.

Response measured in seconds

During the operation, standby personnel are positioned to provide a response time measured in seconds, not minutes. We carry out no other tasks during standby, as divided attention is incompatible with effective rescue readiness.

Why Think Access

A standby rescue team that is trained, equipped and genuinely focused is the difference between a rescue and a fatality. Think Access provides standby rescue as a serious safety service, not a box-ticking exercise.

F.A.Q’s

Yes. Our rope access rescue capability is applicable to any working at height scenario. We assess the rescue requirement based on the working method, height and location, and deploy appropriate equipment and personnel.

A minimum of two trained rescue operatives is required for most rope access standby rescue scenarios. For confined space rescue, additional personnel may be required depending on the complexity of the space and the likely rescue scenario. We advise on team size as part of the pre-works planning.
