Weatherproofing and Sealing Applications via Rope Access.

Think Access applies weatherproofing and sealant systems to roofing and cladding interfaces using rope access, protecting building envelopes from water ingress, air infiltration and long-term weather degradation across commercial and industrial sites in the UK.

What we do

Sealant & weatherproofing

We apply a range of sealant and weatherproofing products including silicone, polyurethane and hybrid sealants, liquid-applied waterproofing membranes, butyl tape systems and self-adhesive flashing tapes. Product selection is based on the substrate, joint movement characteristics, exposure category and manufacturer compatibility with existing installed systems.

Common application locations

Typical application locations include interfaces between roofing and cladding elements, window and rooflight perimeters, expansion joints, abutments with parapet walls, around service penetrations and at the base of upstands. We clean and prepare all surfaces before application to ensure full adhesion and lasting performance.

Reactive & planned programmes

Weatherproofing works are typically combined with inspection visits or carried out as a standalone reactive programme following identified water ingress. We can respond quickly to reported leaks, carrying out targeted remedial sealing works with minimal disruption to building occupants or ongoing site operations.

Evidence & integrity testing

We provide before-and-after photographic evidence for all weatherproofing works and, where applicable, carry out flood testing to confirm integrity following remedial sealing. Our records give clients and building owners a clear audit trail of the works completed and the condition of treated areas.

Why Think Access

Correct weatherproofing at joints and interfaces is one of the most common elements neglected on building envelopes. Our rope access teams can reach every detail on a structure quickly and treat it properly, giving building owners long-term protection from weather-related damage.

F.A.Q’s

We work with leading manufacturers including Sika, Tremco, Dow and Bostik, and select products to match the substrate and movement requirements of each joint. We can work to your specification or advise on suitable products if no specification exists.

Most sealant products have minimum application temperatures, typically around 5°C, and require a dry substrate. We monitor weather conditions closely and will advise on scheduling if conditions are unsuitable.
