What we do

Glass surface restoration

Construction scratches, weld spatter, abrasive cleaning damage and mineral deposits can all cause permanent-looking damage to glass surfaces. In many cases this damage is remediable through specialist polishing compounds and controlled abrasive techniques. Our teams assess each affected area and apply the appropriate restoration method to achieve the best possible result without risk of further damage.

Post-construction cleaning

Post-construction glass cleaning is a specialist operation that removes silicone smears, cement splatter, paint overspray and general building soiling from new glazed facades before handover. We use appropriate chemical and mechanical methods for each type of contamination, ensuring surfaces are clean, clear and ready for inspection.

Heritage & specialist glazing

For heritage and high-specification buildings, we carry out delicate restoration work on leaded lights, historic glazing and decorative glass panels, where inappropriate cleaning methods could cause irreversible damage. We always test on a small sample area before proceeding across a full elevation.

Assessment & method selection

No two glass restoration jobs are the same. Before any work begins, we assess the type of damage, the glass specification and any coatings present to select the correct method and products. This avoids the risk of compounding existing damage and ensures the most effective outcome for each individual panel or elevation.

Why Think Access

Scratched or soiled glass is often assumed to be beyond repair, but specialist restoration can save significant cost compared to full glass replacement. Think Access carries out a free assessment to advise on whether restoration is achievable before any work is committed.

F.A.Q’s

Not all scratches are restorable. Deep scratches that penetrate the glass surface significantly or affect coatings may not be fully removable. We assess each case on site and provide an honest appraisal of what is achievable before proceeding.

When carried out correctly, polishing restores clarity rather than diminishing it. We use professional-grade compounds and equipment to ensure the finished result is optically acceptable.
