Temporary Safety Barriers via Rope Access.

Think Access installs and removes lightweight temporary safety barriers and control netting using IRATA rope access. We create exclusion zones, control access routes and define safe working areas at height without the bulk and set-up time of permanent systems.

What we do

Temporary barrier installation at height

Temporary barriers are used on construction and maintenance sites to separate working areas from access routes, to control pedestrian movements near hazardous operations, and to create clearly defined safe zones around elevated works. We install lightweight mesh barriers, warning tape systems and soft barriers at height where ground-based installation is impractical or impossible.

Phased & short-duration works

For short-duration or phased works, temporary barriers provide a cost-effective and rapidly deployable alternative to permanent edge protection. We install, move and remove temporary barriers as the programme progresses, keeping pace with the work sequence without creating access obstructions for other trades or disrupting the flow of the wider site operation.

Rooftop safe zone containment

We install temporary containment barriers around roof-level plant maintenance operations, creating a defined safe working zone around the maintenance area and preventing inadvertent access by unauthorised personnel during the work period. Systems are sized and positioned to contain the specific activity, with clear demarcation of the exclusion boundary.

Integrated with the wider access plan

Temporary barriers form part of a wider safe system of work, and we coordinate their installation and removal with the method statement and risk assessment for the works they protect. Where barriers interact with other safety measures such as edge protection or fall arrest systems, we ensure the interfaces are clearly defined and that no gaps in protection are created as the works progress.

Why Think Access

Temporary barriers are a straightforward requirement that becomes complicated when the installation point is at height. Rope access solves that problem efficiently.

F.A.Q’s

We install temporary barriers for any duration, from a single-day maintenance operation to a multi-month construction programme. Short-duration installations are priced accordingly.

Lightweight barriers can be installed in a range of conditions, but wind loading must be considered. We assess conditions before work begins and will not install systems that may fail or become unsafe in the prevailing weather.
